The course consists of 24 hours of teleclass instruction once a week for approximately 6-1/2 months. It is designed for individuals who have experience working in human services but is open to anyone with experience in consilting, human resources, headhunting, volunteerism, managing, supervising or mentoring others.
The one-day introduction to coaching workshop, Coaching: New Skills and Opportunities, or equivalent, is a pre-requisite. Audiotapes available through HomeEd (NASW Massachusetts, www.naswma.org) consisting of a total of 9 CEs, meet the requirement.
The classes will include didactic and experiential material, supervision on clients and actual practice coaching by participants of each other. Participants are coached on how to get clients but must be prepared to actually find at least one ongoing client on their own. Strategies for introducing individuals and organizations to coaching will be discussed, and participants will be helped in developing marketing plans. Pre-class reading and post-class summaries of the discussions will be sent by email.
Course hours may be applied to the ICF PCC portfolio application for Professional Certified Coach (PCC) status through the International Coach Federation.

“You offer a skilled, compassionate, supported process to help individuals transition through lifestyle changes by utilizing their own strengths and choices. The result is an outcome or awareness that is easily palatable and usable. I am eager to incorporate your training in my role as nurse practitioner.”
